role of mentors

What is a financial mentor and how they can help you navigate the money jungle?

Financial mentoring services are located around the country and their services are free. Each service will have trained and qualified financial mentors who possess a large knowledge of budgeting and a wealth of life experience.

They are NOT financial advisors who charge for the services they provide. Advisors focus on their client’s investment portfolio by providing recommendations of specific products and securities.

Financial mentors, however, help people manage their finances and guide them towards improving their financial wellbeing.

When they meet a client, mentors review earnings and identify any savings opportunities.

Mentors can connect people to free services like food banks and government agencies.

They also advocate for clients by negotiating payment plans with service providers and lenders.

MoneyTalks can refer anyone to a financial mentoring service and our expert advisors can connect clients with mentors who speak one or more Pacific language.
